Żona prezydenta USA Donalda Trumpa, Melania Trump, przewodniczyła posiedzeniu Rady Bezpieczeństwa ONZ. To pierwszy taki przypadek w historii. Wystąpienie amerykańskiej pierwszej damy poświęcone było m.in. sprawie ochrony dzieci w konfliktach zbrojnych, co przedstawiciel Iranu uznał za hipokryzję – Teheran oskarża USA i Izrael o zbombardowanie szkoły podstawowej i zabicie ponad 160 dziewczynek i nauczycieli.
