Decline in Icelandic Literature Reading in High Schools

There has been a significant decline in the reading of Icelandic literature in the country's high schools over the past decade. Classic works of Icelandic literary history, such as Njála, Egils saga, and novels by Halldór Laxness, have reportedly been removed from reading lists in many institutions.
