Lithuania Addresses Pollution at Kazokiškės Landfill After Fire

Lithuanian authorities plan to cover 14,000 tons of semi-combustible waste at the Kazokiškės landfill, which accumulated after a fire at a waste sorting plant, to reduce pollution.

Kazokiškių sąvartyne bus uždengta 14 tūkst. tonų pusiau degių atliekų, kurios į sąvartyną pateko po gaisro likvidavimo atliekų rūšiavimo gamykloje, teigia Elektrėnų savivaldybės meras Gediminas Ratkevičius. Tai, pasak jo, turėtų sumažinti taršą sąvartyne.
