Colombia suspends culling of 80 hippos descended from Pablo Escobar's herd
Colombia's Ministry of Environment has issued an order to suspend the planned culling of 80 hippos, descendants of those brought to the country by drug lord Pablo Escobar. The measure aims to address the overpopulation of the species affecting the Magdalena River.
