Govt cuts diesel duties by 17 cents to help with rise in fuel costs

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 28 - A 17-cent cut in diesel duties that the government approved on Monday to help people cope with high fuel costs following the return of conflict in the Persian Gulf came into effect on Tuesday and will remain in place until August 6. The cut will cost the State around 125 million euro and should bring diesel prices in line with those for unleaded petrol, the duties of which have not been reduced.
