Lisbon City Council Abolishes Green Zones Planning Office

The Lisbon City Council has decided to abolish a department responsible for planning green areas and scrutinizing urbanistic choices, despite appeals from its workers. The council stated there was an 'overlap' of operational and planning functions, while the office had previously contested tree cutting in Lumiar.
