Offshore Henoko: Organization Did Not Formalize Criteria for Ship Departure Decision in Accident Where 2 Died
In the capsizing accident off the coast of Henoko, Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, where two people, including high school students on a training trip, died, it was revealed through interviews with the organization to which the captain belonged that they had not formalized criteria for departure decisions, such as weather conditions. The Japan Coast Guard is investigating whether there were any problems with safety measures.
