Illegal Mining in Ghana's Forest Reserves Increases to Nearly 9,000 Hectares

A survey by Ghana's Forestry Commission revealed that illegal mining in forest reserves increased significantly, reaching 8,923.8 hectares by the end of 2024. This marks an increase of over 5,000 hectares since 2021.
