Indian Panel Urges Gender-Sensitive Cybercrime Law and Expanded Data Access for Law Enforcement

An Indian parliamentary committee has called for a unified, gender-sensitive cybercrime law to address rising online offenses targeting women and children, also recommending age-appropriate social media regulations. Concurrently, a government panel is considering expanding the Sahyog portal to allow law enforcement agencies to request user data from electronic service providers, including social media intermediaries.
