Poland to Replace Traditional Cervical Cancer Screening with HPV HR Test

Starting August 1, 2026, Poland will discontinue classical cytology for cervical cancer prevention, replacing it with the HPV HR test, aligning with expert recommendations for updated screening protocols.

Od 1 sierpnia 2026 r. klasyczna cytologia zostanie wykreślona z programu profilaktyki raka szyjki macicy. Zastąpi ją nowe badanie - test HPV HR. Zmiana dotychczasowych zasad badań przesiewowych jest zgodna z najnowszymi zaleceniami ekspertów. Ministerstwo Zdrowia właśnie skierowało do publikacji rozporządzenie w tej sprawie.
