Case against Totti for leaving kids home alone dropped
(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 18 - A Rome court on Wednesday dismissed a criminal case against former Italy forward and ex-AS Roma captain Francesco Totti for alleged "abandonment of minors" for leaving his three children home alone for a few hours during an evening in May 2023. The three were minors at the time, including a girl who was six. Nevertheless, the court ruled that they were never in any real danger and upheld a request from prosecutors to shelve proceedings. The case stemmed from a report by Totti's estranged wife, TV presenter Ilary Blasi. The couple are close to completing an acrimonious divorce. Totti's lawyers expressed satisfaction at the ruling, but Blasi's disagreed with it. "I will discuss what action to take with my client," said Blasi's lawyer, Fabio Lattanzi. "The fact is that a six-year-old girl was left alone, and everything was done to hide it. "I wonder what would have happened if Totti hadn't been the suspect". (ANSA). Read article...
