Dangerous Heat Index Recorded in Multiple Philippine Areas on June 1

Several areas in the Philippines, including Camarines Sur and Eastern Samar, experienced dangerous heat indices peaking at 45-46°C on Monday, June 1. A dangerous heat index was forecast for 32 areas across the country on that day.

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the enhanced southwest monsoon, heat indices in several areas nationwide continued to reach dangerous levels on Monday, June 1, with CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur hitting 46ºC, the state weather bureau said.
