Magma Accumulation Continues Under Svartsengi, Iceland

Over 25 million cubic meters of magma have accumulated under Svartsengi on the Reykjanes Peninsula since the last eruption in July, causing continued land uplift and increasing pressure. A magma intrusion with a possible eruption at the Sundhnúkagígaröðin remains the most likely scenario.
