German Court Rejects Climate Lawsuit Against BMW and Mercedes
The German environmental group Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) has failed in its climate lawsuit against BMW and Mercedes-Benz at the Federal Court of Justice, which sought to compel the automakers to cease selling climate-damaging internal combustion engines by 2030. Environmental campaigners argued that continuing to release high amounts of CO2 could infringe on the rights of younger generations.
