Extreme Spacetime Distortion Detected in Supernova for the First Time

Scientists have for the first time detected extreme spacetime distortion in a supernova, a phenomenon believed to be caused by magnetars. The discovery was made possible by the Lense-Thirring effect, first identified by Austrian physicists Lense and Thirring.
