Volvo is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the seatbelt, having been one of the first car manufacturers to introduce seatbelts to the European market with its 1956 Amazon prototype.

Volvo je bio jedan od prvih proizvođača automobila koji je uveo sigurnosne pojaseve na evropsko tržište kada je svoj prototip Amazona iz 1956. godine opremio dijagonalnim pojasom s dvije tačke pričvršćivanja preko prsa, koji je ubrzo nakon toga postao dostupan kao opcija na proizvodnim modelima.
