A seminar on the architectural heritage of the colonial city of Popayán
(ANSA) - ROMA, 16 FEB - The city of Popayán, capital of the department of Cauca, Colombia, one of the oldest cities in America and boasting one of the largest colonial historic centers in Colombia, will host a seminar on the city's architectural heritage, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Bogotá and organized by the University of Cauca and the Polytechnic University of Bari.
The theme 'Patrimonio mestizo como reconciliación cultural' (Mestizo heritage as cultural reconciliation) is part of the series of seminars on Architectural Heritage Surveying (SiLepArq), held in various cities of architectural importance, with the participation of various Latin American, Italian, and Spanish universities, with the aim of reconciling different cultural experiences, including pre-Hispanic and colonial ones, through documentation. SiLepArq, which will be held from February 23 to 27, offers training and research activities for university students, doctoral students, and graduates in engineering and architecture. During the seminar, theoretical lessons, laboratory activities, and field activities will be carried out, with workshops designed to provide the opportunity to acquire the skills and competences necessary for the creation of digital models.
