Typhoon Inday and Southwest Monsoon Cause Deaths and Displacement in Philippines

Typhoon Inday (international name Hinnamnor) and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) caused widespread heavy rains, leading to at least 17 deaths and affecting over 500,000 people across the Philippines. The weather conditions also resulted in stranded tourists and numerous canceled ferry trips, particularly in Calabarzon and Mindanao regions.
