ECtHR Rules President Cannot Refuse Judicial Appointments Without Justification
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that a president's prerogative to appoint judges does not grant full discretion, requiring justification for refusal and allowing candidates the right to appeal. The ruling stems from a case involving judicial candidates not appointed in 2008.
