Excessive C-Sections Reported in Portuguese Private Hospitals

The president of SPOMMF admitted in Parliament that private hospitals in Portugal perform an excessive number of C-sections, nearly double the rate of the public health service. The higher payment for the procedure was identified as a factor needing regulation.
