Czech SPD Proposes Abolishing Certain TV and Radio Fees, Removing Inflation Increase

The Czech Social Democratic Party (SPD) plans to submit a parliamentary bill to abolish television and radio fees for seniors, businesses, young people under 26, and disabled individuals, also seeking to remove inflation-based increases.

Vládní koalice chce v úterý ve Sněmovně podat poslanecký návrh zákona, který zruší televizní a rozhlasové poplatky pro seniory, firmy, nezaopatřené mladé lidi do 26 let nebo osoby s tělesným postižením. Výnos z poplatků by se tak měl vrátit do stavu z roku 2024. Po jednání koaliční rady to uvedl předseda SPD a Sněmovny Tomio Okamura.
