Moldova Declares 15-Day Environmental Alert on Dniester River, Blames Russia for Pollution
The Moldovan government has declared a 15-day environmental alert for the Dniester River basin, effective March 16, to address pollution attributed to a Russian attack in Ukraine, which is reported to be more extensive than initially thought. Authorities believe fuel leaked into the river following Russian attacks on the Dniester hydropower plant on March 7.
