Mudbrick Byzantine city unearthed during excavations at Egypt's western desert oasis

The discovery helps “highlight the cultural diversity witnessed by the Egyptian oases throughout different historical periods," said Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy.
