Visit by the Italian Ambassador to Canada in British Columbia

(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 14 FEB - The Italian Ambassador to Canada, Alessandro Cattaneo, made an official visit to the Province of British Columbia from February 11 to 13. In the capital, Victoria, he was received by Lieutenant Governor Wendy Cocchia, with whom he discussed the strong and growing economic, social, and cultural relations between Italy and British Columbia. The ambassador was accompanied by the Consul General in Vancouver, Paolo Miraglia del Giudice, and the Consular Correspondent in Victoria, Silvana Saccomani. The ambassador then attended the 'Speech from the Throne' at the Provincial Legislative Assembly, signing the book of condolences for the recent massacre at the school in Tumbler Ridge. The program of economic and commercial engagements was rich: Ambassador Cattaneo met with Italian and Canadian companies active in defense, infrastructure, and construction, speaking at the Italian-Canadian Forum on Green Building, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Western Canada in the context of the Buildex Fair. The ambassador also visited the ICE office and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vancouver. Scientific collaboration was the focus of the Ambassador's visit to the prestigious Triumf nuclear research center, where numerous Italian scientists work.
