Majority of Icelandic Municipalities Levy Maximum Income Tax
83% of Iceland's municipalities, specifically 51 out of 61, are imposing the maximum income tax on their residents, including two in the capital region. This income tax is the largest revenue source for municipalities, generating approximately 410 billion ISK last year from residents' income and profits.
