Latvian Linguists Advise Against Overuse of 'Resilient' Loanword

Latvian linguists are cautioning against the frequent and sometimes illogical use of the English loanword "resilient," recommending the native term "noturīgs" for better clarity and understanding.

Par visai jaunu modes vārdu ir kļuvis anglicisms "resilients", tomēr valodnieki tā vietā iesaka izmantot mūsu pašu valodas terminu "noturīgs" – tas daudziem būs labāk saprotams un, iespējams, mazāk veidosies dažādi neloģiski vārdu salikumi, piemēram, "resilientā noturība".
