Inquiry Reveals Systemic Failings in Innu Child Protection Leading to Youth Deaths
An inquiry into the deaths of six youths from the Mushuau Innu First Nation between 2015 and 2020 has identified 12 systemic failings in child protection. These issues range from placing children in distant group homes to the ongoing problem of gas sniffing within their community.
