Heading in to the second leg of the Europa League round of 32, Louis Van Gaal's men were trailing Danish side FC Midtjylland 2-1 and an injury crisis at the club made reaching the last 16 an uphill battle. An injury to Anthony Martial - the club's only available senior striker - in the warm up to the match, dampened the mood even further inside Old Trafford.
