Sanchez didn't raise issue of no invite to pre-summit say Chigi sources

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 12 - Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez did not raise the issue of Madrid not being among the 20 EU members invited to a pre-summit liaison meeting co-chaired by Premier Giorgia Meloni with Germany Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever when the Spanish leader subsequently had talks with Meloni, sources at her office at Palazzo Chigi in Rome said Thursday. The sources said Sánchez and Meloni had the opportunity to exchange views on the sidelines of the informal meeting of EU leaders. During their conversation, the sources explained, Sánchez did not raise any issues regarding the lack of an invitation to the coordination meeting held this morning before the start of the informal summit at Alden Biesen Castle.
