Environmental Group Deems 'Volta a Portugal' Route Through Gerês Unacceptable

The Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (LPN) has criticized the "Volta a Portugal" cycling race for its August 13th stage, which is set to cross the protected Mata da Albergaria area in Terras de Bouro. LPN warns that regulations prohibit motorized events in the zone, while the ICNF has yet to issue its opinion.
