Latvia Establishes New National Research and Innovation Institute

Latvia has created the National Research and Innovation Institute (NIRI) by merging the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre. The new institute aims to accelerate the development of new medicines and technologies.

Latvijā izveidots Nacionālais pētniecības un inovāciju institūts (NIRI), apvienojot Latvijas Organiskās sintēzes institūtu un Latvijas Biomedicīnas pētījumu un studiju centru. Institūta pārstāvji uzskata, ka apvienošanās ļaus paātrināt jaunu zāļu, diagnostikas metožu un medicīnas tehnoloģiju izstrādi un ieviešanu.
