Archaeologists Find First Evidence of Romans Using Human Feces as Medicine
Scientists in Turkey have discovered the first direct physical evidence that ancient Romans used human feces for medicinal purposes. Analysis of residues in a glass bottle revealed the presence of substances consistent with human excrement, thyme, and olive oil.
