German speed skater suspended after criticising governing body

German speed skater Fridtjof Petzold has been barred from competing at upcoming events and has had his status as top tier athlete suspended by the governing body DESG after criticising the federation. DESG vice-president Christoph Zepernick told dpa that both rulings stand until a final decision by a disciplinary body is made.
