Montenegro's Social Spending Significantly Lower Than EU Average

Montenegro's per capita spending on pensions and social welfare in 2023 was €1,418, significantly lower than the EU average of €8,225. The country allocated 19.5% of its GDP to social protection and pensions in 2024, compared to the EU average of 28%.
