Heatwave Triggers Surge in Emergency Calls in Portugal

Portugal's SNS 24 health line experienced a significant increase in calls during July due to the heat, with a peak of 22,329 calls on July 6th. The INEM emergency services also reported a 6.6% rise in daily calls during the first week of the month.
