Japan Considers Mandating Private Rice Stockpiles

Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is exploring a plan to require private companies to stockpile rice, up to a quarter of the government's reserve, to ensure quick supply to consumers during production shortages.
