Min Aung Hlaing, the general who led the 2021 coup, has been elected as Myanmar's new President, with India's MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh slated to represent the country at the inauguration.

The Indian government informed Parliament that 431 snakebite deaths occurred in the country last year. The Minister of State for Environment, Kirti Vardhan Singh, stated that states and Union territories have been advised to notify snakebite as a reportable disease.
