Finnish Social Democratic Party MP Joona Räsänen has admitted driving under the influence after police stopped his car in Espoo last month, prompting fresh scrutiny inside one of Finland’s largest opposition parties. Räsänen said police stopped him during a traffic check on Ring I, known in Finnish as Kehä 1, on 17 April as he drove home to Lohja after an evening with a friend. He said a breathalyser test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.68 per mille, above Finland’s legal limit of 0.5.
